The waste collection of paper program in the UK is one of the firsts in the European Union, but is facing harsh criticism by commercial printers around the country. The new rule states that all paper wastes from households and businesses must be recycled without any exceptions.
The recycling program ensures that the paper wastes from households are collected on a regular basis from doorstep; while, commercial paper wastes do not find the same treatment as the domestic paper waste.
There are a few private companies around UK that collect paper wastes but don’t often take a tonne of paper from printers. Commercial printers are left with the only option of driving the paper waste themselves as far as 50 miles to be deposited for recycling.
Managing director of Nuprint, Colin Lake says that he is bewildered at the lack of measures that he claims as discrimination against trade waste.
Colin has expressed his desire for desirable provisions for the business waste to be collected by the government and not put businesses in an uncomfortable situation.
