Epson have joined hands with Express Digital to give a photographer or an average Joe the full freedom to edit and print photos in the comfort of their homes. The just-announced Epson Portrait Edition Series is a combo package consisting of both hardware and software solutions. This solution works on Epson Stylus Pro 3800 and 4800 photo printers. The Portrait Series is based on the Epson Ultra Chrome K3 technology and should give the photographer all the tools available in a photo lab to run his business independently.
The portrait series includes a customised version of Express Digital Darkroom Core Edition software which incorporates crucial workflow components like importing, cataloging, archiving, enhancing and editing photos. It also allows photographers to create new photo products with easy-to-use tools and provides marketing tools as well. A photographer can set up an online store within hours with the web building tools.
“The Epson Portrait Edition Series is engineered to deliver a seamless workflow solution that wedding and portrait photographers will truly appreciate, allowing them to create and print packages in-house efficiently and affordably,” said Philip Amato, product manager, professional imaging, Epson America, Inc. “It provides photographers better in-house sales tools, as well as a customized online storefront to expand their reach to potential customers. The end result translates to more control, more profit and better prints for their customers.”
