Fineprint

The time of the hour is to prevent deforestation by saving paper. Fineprint could have the right solution to tackle this situation. Fineprint 6.0 is an application/printer driver that uses paper effectively by reducing scrapped pages and removing the need for preprinted stationery. The company estimates that the savings are in the range of 35% and 50%.

Here are some benefits:
1. The software places multiple pages on a single sheet of paper and readability is ensured by minimizing the margins
2. Suppose an extra page is to be printed for a small portion of matter, Fineprint adjusts it into the previous sheet automatically
3. Variable margins and gutters are enforced to improve document appearance
4. Printouts are organized in the form of a booklet for easy indexing and viewing
5. An option to eliminate printing images is provided to tackle expensive prints
6. With FinePrint, users can create their own letterheads and use it to print output from anywhere-including applications like spreadsheets and browsers that do not support graphics-onto customized stationery
7. The application is capable of inserting headers, footers and watermarks

Probably here’s one feature that would be most useful at offices: A log file is created for every page printed which can help companies track their printing pattern and can suitably take action to reduce printing and hence, the paper.

Fineprint 6.0 is priced at £25 and honestly, a price cannot be set for products that avert deforestation.
