Review: The Epson Stylus SX-405 is Perfect For Home Users

Epson has launched a new multi-function printer, Stylus SX-405, which is capable of printing, scanning and copying. This Epson inkjet printer is targetted at homes and home offices as its footprint is as small as an A4 printer can get.

The printer leverages upon DURABrite Ultra Ink technology and four individual cartridges; cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Only the cartridge that runs needs replacement. Epson guarantees that all prints taken are water, smudge and fade resistant. Printing speed is impressive at 34ppm for both monochrome and colour.

A 6.3cm LCD screen is provided to view images before printing directly through the PictBridge port or through the memory card readers. Connectivity to the printer is through USB 2.0 provided behind the printer. A variant of SX-405, enabled with Wi-Fi is also available.

The software provided with this Epson inkjet printer ensures that the value for your money is at a maximum. Epson PhotoEnhance automatically adjusts colour and contrast for great photos. Epson Easy Photo Fix restores colour and provides accurate backlighting when scanning faded photos. Epson Easy Photo Print removes red-eye from your photos.

Stylus SX-405 carries a price tag of around £65 while the Wi-Fi variant is a little more at £75.
