New Wi-Fi Printers by Lexmark
Posted in PrintersLexmark is planning on launching 12 Wi-Fi enabled printers before this year ends; 5 of them are already in the market that support Wi-Fi printing. Of the projected releases, 6 printers will be integrated with 802.11g capability and will be optional on 2 printers for £25.
Here are some Lexmark Wi-Fi printers in the market:
X4550: This multi-function printer is inbuilt with 802.11g technology and compatible with 802.11b. It is capable of printing photos directly from the memory card or PictBridge. It can print up to 26ppm in black and 18ppm in colour.
X3550: The buyer has an option of upgrading this multi-function printer to a Wi-Fi printer(not integrated with one from factory). The rest of the features are similar to a X4550 except for its printing speeds; 24ppm for black and 17ppm for colour.
Z1420: This is a generic inkjet printer with wireless capability. It prints up to 24ppm in black and 18ppm in colour. It is the cheapest Wireless printer available in the market at £40.
Lexmark is taking the Kodak way by reducing the prices of their (wireless) printers. Traditionally, other all-in-one printers cost around £125; Lexmark's strategy would be to compete with similar printers for under £70. As Edward Baig says - ""¦the winner is inevitably the consumer."¯
