HP Photosmart C6380 is one of the latest multi-function photo printers in the market and is targetted especially for homes and home offices. Its sleek design makes it apt but is highly priced at £250.
PC Mag reports that the printer’s text output is well below par. The text prints fared well at smaller points such as 8 but as the size increased, the text quality deteriorated. Many stylized fonts came a cropper and a character spacing problem was also identified.
Colour prints were better than most inkjet printers in the market. A minor banding on two graphics in default mode and a tendency to lose thin lines were observed which is quite common with most inkjet printers.
Photo quality is good; in fact it’s very close to lab quality. A colour balance issue in monochrome photos was observed, but, otherwise, the C6380 is a great photo printer. Even the photo lifetime is rated high at 60 years behind glass and 30 years in open air. The photos passed the water and scratch resistance tests as well.
This is a good printer for printing photos and graphics, but if you are looking to print text, especially big ones, look elsewhere.
