Samsung Shrinks Laser Printers

Samsung has created history by announcing the release of the World’s smallest and lightest laser printers. Earlier this week Samsung released 3 printers; CLX-2160N, CLX-3160FN and CLP-300N. CLX-2160N is an all-in-one colour laser printer and is the smallest and lightest in its category while CLP-300N, a simple colour laser printer bags the honour in its category.

While all of these printers are being touted as small, space-saving machines, Samsung is claiming that the CLX-2160N and the CLP-300N are the world’s smallest and lightest printers in their respective classes. The company reduces the size and weight of all three of these printers by replacing the cartridges with toner bottles.

CLX-2160N can print at 2400 X 600 dpi, scan letter sized documents at 1200 X 600 dpi and make copies at 600 X 600 dpi. This printer weighs 16.5 kilograms and measures 16.3″ X 13.9″ X 13.1”. It’s a network printer with Ethernet port; also boasts of PictBridge port, a unique feature in laser printers. It also has a USB port for PC-less printing from USB devices.

CLX-3160FNCLX-3160FN has all the features of CLX-2160N along with the faxing facility along with a 3 second scan speed.

CLP-300N weighing at 13.6 kilograms and measuring 15.4″ x 13.5″ x 10.4″ is the smallest and lightest laser printer. It has a print speed of 17ppm for black and 4ppm for colour.

The CLX-2160N is priced at £250, CLX-3160FN at £300 and CLP-300N at £175. All these 3 printers are available in the market now.
