In the present world where time is money, Samsung has tried to cash on it by launching a new high speed heavy duty multi-function printer in CLX-8540ND. It is aimed at large corporates and enterprises mainly. It costs around 6000 pounds.
The printer leverages on Real-Time Calibration Technology to produce clean, crisp prints at 9600 X 600 dpi. Scan maximum resolution is 4800 X 4800 dpi and the output can be saved, printed, e-mailed or faxed to any networked location.
The printer can output at a maximum rate of 40 pages per minute, which is perhaps not the fastest we have seen, but still, it is quick to quirk you. This heavy duty printer has a monthly duty capacity of 100,000 sheets. To produce high speed results, the printer comes built with 800 MHz processor, 1 GHz memory and 160 GB HDD for caching prints for quicker printing. It can spontaneously handle 3000 sheets.
The available high yield laser toner produces 20,000 prints in black and 15,000 in colour, and as the manufacturer claims, is an economy in terms on cost of each print.
“Next to its performance, the CLX-8540ND’s advanced features, such as modular add-ons and productivity software, make this multifunction printer easy to manage for IT managers and end users,” said Ken Colby, director of printer product marketing, Samsung Corporation.
“We’ve also added cost saving features like TonerSave, AnyWeb Print, and Auto Colour Detection to help our customers trim expenses. Our standard accounting solution gives managers complete visibility into their printer fleets by providing them with real-time tracking of their printing costs by individual users, printer type and location.”
