The latest trend in multi-function printers are printers that are embedded with digital frames. Perhaps, this combination is the easiest of them all to realize. All you need is a huge LCD screen rather than the usual 2.5″ LCD screen that comes mounted on photo printers. And, we hear that this latest trend is blossoming soon, thanks to the market it has created for itself. Mind you, it has not taken over any of the existing products.

The Epson PictureMate PM310 comes with a mega 7″ LCD screen which poses a best resolution of 800 X 480 pixels. Behind the LCD screen, sits a compact printer that leverages on PictureMate cartridge for its operation.

Print resolution is one of the best in the industry at 5760 X 1440 dots per inch. It can print on 4″ X 6″ postcard sized paper and below, and the inks leveraged are Epson Claria Photographic Inks.

The entire weight of this device is under 3 kilograms which still sounds massive to be hung around from the ceiling or on the wall, tabletop sounds optimum.

External memory card readers and Wi-Fi are the feeders for the printer and the digital photo frame. The frame displays slideshows with various effects in between the transitions.

The Epson PictureMate PM310 costs under £200 and we feel it’s a steal.
