Say Hello to Printer cum Digital Photo Frame : Epson PictureMate Show

The market seems to be preferring multi-functional gadgets, and this time around, it’s Epson making all the gains. Their second digital frame cum printer, the Epson PictureMate Show was launched earlier this month. This is the second of the series launched within a gap of six months.

The LCD size of this device is 7″ which is decent enough for a photo frame. We in fact feel that it is a regular printer fitted with an oversized LCD panel for dual operation.

Maximum print quality is at its peak at 5760 x 1440 dpi. A 4″ X 6″ photograph takes around 37 seconds to be printed, which is not bad at all. The droplet size is around 2pl which is only bettered by Canons and none other.

This printer is not one of those based on thermal technology. It contains normal Epson ink cartridges for its operation.

It takes input through PictBridge, memory card readers and the now legendary USB 2.0. Bluetooth is available optionally through an adapter.

The Epson PictureMate Show is currently available in all Epson retail outlets and is estimated to cost around £200.
