Sony, much like Canon is one of the leading photo printer manufacturers around the globe. Their latest photo printer, DPP-FP67 Picture Station is the latest kid on the block, and the demand for the product has sky rocketed already. It targets homes mainly and, makes it with a host of functions to make the home user loyal to it.
The printer comes in a white casing with dimensions 180mm x 65mm x 137mm, and weighing around a kilogram. A 2.4″ tiltable LCD is built into it for viewing photographs before printing and to navigate through the menu. Sorting photographs through dates is a special feature on this printer that is usually not found on any other photo printer. Bionz image processor powers the printer.
Sony claims that the printer outputs studio quality photographs and the maximum photo resolution is claimed at 300 X 300 dpi. Print speed is around 63 seconds per postcard sized (4″ X 6″) borderless photograph.
The DPP-FP67 connects to systems through full speed USB 2.0 port and can optionally connect through wireless networks through Bluetooth adapter. The printer can function sans PC through PictBridge port for direct connections to digital cameras and an array of memory card reader slots.
Sony has plenty to offer with the image editing tools embedded on the system. A user can potentially perform touch ups automatically for red eye correction and exposure correction.
The Sony DPP-FP67 will be launched in the market mid-May and the manufacturer has already started accepting pre-orders. The printer carries a price tag of £60.
