Portability is the new mantra of Sony, while they launch two new products; DPP-FP67 and DPP-FP97 photo printers. The thought process may seem to revolve around the summer season which is round the corner and loads of vacations underway. The newly launched photo printers are so mobile – as the manufacturer puts it – can be carried in your breakfast basket along with other goodies.

Both printers, although mobile, are claimed to produce excellent lab quality postcard sized (4″ X 6″) photograph prints.

Printing speed is competitive at 45 seconds per photograph for DPP-FP97 and 63 seconds per photograph for DPP-FP67.

The top model, DPP-FP97 is built in with tools that can do much more than any other photo printer in the market. It contains a touch sensitive LCD screen that doubles up a keyboard for character keying for quick titling and personalized greeting cards. The printer also does photo editing functions such as touch-up, white balance, focus, exposure and red eye.

The Sony DPP-FP97 photo printer has an HDMI-out port to output photographs to a HDTV and a USB port to connect over to a digital frame.

Both printers have already been rolled out into the market. The base model DPP-FP67 comes with a nominal price tag of £60 and DPP-FP97 at £100.
