Gadgets and related accessories are something that we never get tired of. We end up spending a good portion of our salaries on them, and still don’t feel that we have wasted on things that will eventually become obsolete, in the near future. One such gadgets that amazes me with the exponential growth is photo printing technology. Every release brings a new set of never-heard-before features that ensures we ditch what we have, and buy the new thing on the shelf.
Recently, PC World carried an innovative article for photo printer buyers, six tips that should help you get a printer of your choice. Amazingly, the content was hidden away beneath the ad, which was interesting anyways.
Here’s a snapshot:
1. Buy printers that are easy to use
2. LCD screen are helpful. Buy the one which offers embedded software on them.
3. PC-free printing option is a must
4. Support for digital cameras, memory cards and USB drives a must
5. Choose which printer you want depending on the size you wish to print. If you generally print on 4″ X 6″, any photo printer would do, else you might have to go for wide format printers.
6. If you want features, only a full blown photo printer can provide one
Most of the printers used as examples by the author are Epsons. It is amazing to see the company grow in the past year, and is closing on its rivals Canon by a thin margin. Epson printers truly have an advantage over Canon in terms of pricing, Epson inks are way cheaper than its counterparts.
