Windows 7 Beta Leaked and Available through Torrents

World’s most awaited operating system, Windows 7, is the latest craze in the cyber world and millions of users around the world are downloading it and a fraction of them seeding it. Popular torrent sites such as Mininova and Pirate Bay have close to 10,000 users seeding the 32 and 64 bits of Windows 7 build 6801.

A pre-beta version was released at a Professional Developers’ Conference earlier this year and this build has somehow made it to the outside world and is getting loaded onto systems even before Microsoft is officially due to release the Beta early next year.

Mac has always been known as the inspirer of Windows operating system. Now, ironically, there are reports suggesting that Mac users have listed a number of useful features from Windows 7 that befit to be implemented in the next build of Mac.

With the popularity of Windows 7 soaring, phishers are becoming active by decoying the actual download with fake versions containing viruses and spywares. Many torrents found on the web are actually a copy of XP with an ingrained copy of viruses and other unwanted programs.

CNET reports that a number of complaints had arisen that the version offered wasn’t the latest build, but instead the stable one given the delegates and therefore didn’t have the revised taskbar. Complaints also abounded about how slow the download was considering the lack of people seeding the file.
