World’s Cheapest Laptop at £60
Jul 21, 2008 Computers
Behold! The world’s cheapest laptop is here and no surprises that it origins from China, a country mainly known for its imitations and cheap products. In a couple months, it will probably hit every computer store across UK (if lucky).
Brands from China don’t get significant recognition worldwide but all Chinese products religiously carry a brand name. This laptop is manufactured by Impulse and the product number NPX-9000. This laptop is on sale in bulk on Alibaba for £60 with a minimum purchase quantity of 50 pieces.
The laptop’s specs don’t raise any eyebrows. It has the meanest of the meanest configurations and such a specification dates back to desktops in the 1990s.
It has a 400MHz processor along with 128MB SDRAM. The hard disk drive is ancient at 1GB. The screen is tiny at 7” and can accommodate only Linux operating system on it.
Honestly, I don’t see any point purchasing a cheap laptop with specifications such as this. We are in the age of fast paces and such a laptop with crumbling speeds should (and will) be least preferred. Buyers are well suited to go for used laptops rather than a new cheap laptop.
