Zink Ditches Polaroid for Dell

by Abhinav Kaiser on October 1, 2008

It looks like the Zink-Polaroid relationship has come to an end before the honeymoon stage. There are reports emerging from the FCC website regarding an ultra mobile printer, Dell PZ310 WASABI which leverages upon Zink’s inkless technology.

The new printer is an exact replica of Pogo in terms of functionalities. The device’s physical dimensions look similar to that of the former. A Bluetooth feature is available for printing wirelessly through cell phones and a USB port is also provided for traditionalists.

The popular Zink technology is based on thermal printing technology. The printer works not only with paper, but also with plastic and other materials that are resistant to water, light, heat and humidity damage.

The FCC website does not reveal any pricing information. Since it’s a replica of Pogo, we expect the price tag to be on similar lines at £100 as well.
