As the successor of the multifunction DCP-8040, the Brother DCP-8045D promises better overall performance with automatic two-sided printing, a multi-purpose tray, and superb copy output. The Brother DCP-8045D monochrome laser printer has expandable and optional features for speed and efficiency in workgroups, but some users might be disappointed with the heavy weight and the absence of colour printing.
Design
This large 16.6kg multifunction machine has an understated yet professional appearance, which makes it suitable for the workplace. The DCP-8045D is integrated with black-and-white laser print technology but comes with a colour flatbed scanner on top, highlighted by the automatic document feeder and adjacent to the lengthy but easy-to-use control panel, which is slightly angled in front. The entire unit measures 18.5 inches tall, 17.5 inches deep, and 20.9 inches wide.
Advantages
The Brother DCP8045D laser printer features a 50-sheet automatic document feeder and an auto-duplexer, and the copier can be used as a standalone device. Copy and print speeds are reasonably fast at up to 21ppm, and users can improve the speed further by expanding the standard memory. Bulk printing is supported with the paper capacity expandable up to 500 sheets. Users can also integrate the Brother DCP 8045D all-in-one printer into a wireless or wired network.
Disadvantages
The Brother DCP-8045D multifunction printer could be better if it had an additional USB port to allow users to print directly from a flash drive. Despite being an improved version of the predecessor, it can still only print in monochrome and cannot scan thick media. This multifunction printer doesn't have a fax machine. The Brother DCP-8045D has now been discontinued.
