The Brother HL-1450 is the perfect printer for a home office or for personal use. It is a laser monochrome printer that can create up to 15 pages per minute at a maximum resolution of up to 1,200 x 600 dpi. A Fujitsu MB86832 66 MHz processor is used to handle print jobs and can manage multiple incoming prints with ease. This printer is also equipped with 8 MB of RAM to handle storage and can be upgraded to 36 MB for improved performance. The Brother HL-1450 also can operate in a humidity range anywhere between 10 and 80 per cent for optimal performance.

Design

The Brother HL-1450 does not demand much room at dimensions of only 36.06 cm in width, 42.92 cm in depth, and 23.62 cm in height. At a weight of only 9.29 kg, this printer is lightweight and can be moved around without any complications. For installation, only computers installed with Windows and Apple Mac OS X will be able to integrate with the Brother HL-1450. Additionally, this printer can be connected using either an Ethernet connection, a parallel connection, or a 4-pin USB cable. Brother HL-1450 toner is also manufactured to deliver up to 3,000 pages with every standard Brother HL-1450 cartridge while the high capacity Brother HL-1450 toners have a 6,000 page yield. Furthermore, toner cartridges are easy to install and will not require additional tools.

Advantages

This printer also comes with the ability to print on bond paper, envelopes, transparencies, labels, cards, and plain paper. This printer is also energy efficient and only operates using 340 watts of energy. During standby, this printer reduces its power consumption to 70 watts. Brother HL-1450 toner is very affordable and will not break the bank.

Disadvantages

If you need a copier, scanner, or fax machine then this may not be the right choice for some offices. In addition, the Brother HL-1450 does not provide networking capabilities, which could pose a major problem for users who wish to give multiple computers a printing station.
