Aimed at small and medium-sized offices, the Brother HL-5470DW monochrome laser printer is designed to be a cost-efficient solution with speedy monochrome printing, an automatic duplexer, and a network-ready interface that is versatile enough to accommodate both wired and wireless connections. However, users are expected to pay more upfront for the Brother HL-5470DW, which costs more than some competing laser devices offering very similar features.
Design
Resembling its predecessors, the Brother HL-5470DW is an understated device. It weighs 10.5Kg and is compact, measuring 15.1 inches deep, 10.1 inches tall, and 14.6 inches wide. Apart from the standard 250-sheet input tray, there is a 50-sheet multi-purpose tray and additional room for an optional 500-sheet paper cassette. The minimalist control panel features a small display screen. The original Brother HL-5470DW toner cartridges are only designed to print black and white documents and can print approximately 3,000 pages or 8,000 pages per cartridge.
