Our Verdict:  

Canon IRC-2880 toner cartridges 

Cost-effective and compact, the Canon IRC-2880 is a hardworking colour photocopier. This desktop type printer can handle bulk copying and printing with its generous memory and speedy hard disk drive. Despite this, though, the speed is sub par when compared to faster printers and photocopiers.



Design

This A3 desktop printer is designed to cut downtime and increase productivity, so it is integrated with features such as duplexing and is capable of producing up to 999 copies from the original. The Canon IRC-2880 runs on a 533MHz + 400MHz custom processor with 1 GB of memory and an 80GB HDD. Its main interfaces are USB 2.0 and Ethernet, and power consumption is only 1.5kW (maximum), so it is energy efficient.

Advantages

The Canon IRC-2880 is integrated with automatic colour sensing (ACS) so it only uses colour inks when necessary, which means more savings. It also comes with advanced security options and simple but efficient management tools. Users can choose professional finishing functions to apply to their documents. The Canon IRC2880 has the web-based IWMC (IW management console) facility that makes it easier to merge into a network and it provides users with feedback in real-time.

Disadvantages

Although the Canon IRC 2880 has a large memory and hard disk drive, the print speed is still limited to 28 ppm for monochrome and 26 ppm for colour prints, which is sub-par when compared to competition that can print more than 30 pages per minute in both colour and black-and-white. Copy and reading resolutions are only limited to 600x600 dpi. The Canon IRC-2880 is also heavy, weighing 116kg.
