Canon LBP-3000 toner cartridges 

A personal laser printer needs to be simple, efficient, and affordable. These are the qualities that Canon kept in mind when developing their LBP-3000. This small, entry-level machine was built to fulfil the needs of the most basic of home offices. While the specifications do leave something to be desired, the price and simplicity allow this printer its own niche in the market.

Design

The first noticeable attribute of the LBP-3000 is the size. This printer is no larger than a bread maker with probably half the weight. When all the trays are folded in and the Canon LBP-3000 toner replacement hatch is closed, it becomes highly portable. There is no LCD display, instead a single blue power light and a single power button are the only ways to manipulate the machine without going through the computer software. The fold out paper tray also includes a specialty print attachment for letterheads and other unique paper sizes. The back houses the power cord, a USB 2.0 socket, and an optional Ethernet connection.

Advantages

The Canon LBP-3000 is a pure home printer. There are very few features, it has simplistic in design, and it has one of the lowest prices on the market. The printer can be pulled from the box, the software downloaded onto a computer, and prints will begin popping out in under a minute or two. The software also includes options for specialty prints such as 2 x 2 sheet posters as well as letterheads. Canon LBP-3000 toner cartridges are not only cheap, but take just a few seconds to install.

Disadvantages

When all is said and done, this printer should not be handling anything more than printing out the most basic of schoolwork and other home office needs. It evens out at around 9 pages per minute, making it on the low end of the market. The quality cannot compete with any professional-grade printers with higher dpi either. It is a monochrome printer and only black Canon LBP-3000 toner is available, so those lovely graphics and colour prints will have to wait until another printer is bought.
