The Canon i-SENSYS MF-8040CN is a user-friendly device that promises professional output and long-term savings for a small business, but it may lack some features that a bigger office needs in order to increase productivity. We investigate the pros and cons associated with the Canon MF-8040CN to see if this printer is a worthwhile investment.


Design

The Canon i-SENSYS MF-8040CN is a 26kg colour laser all-in-one that can print, scan, and copy. It uses colour laser beam printing method and automatic image refinement works with the optimised resolution of up to 2400x600 dpi. The scanner is a flatbed type with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder, while the printer's standard input is a 150-sheet cassette with a manual feed slot. All controls are neatly arranged in the front with a larger 5-line LCD display for a better view of the printer's status. The Canon i-SENSYS MF 8040CN can be hooked to a computer via USB 2.0 or Ethernet.

Advantages

The i-SENSYS MF-8040CN comes as a network ready device which is efficient enough for a small office that requires a scanner, copier, and printer in one. It has solution keys for convenient eco copy and scanning, and users are able to scan to a USB memory key or a network. The Canon i-SENSYS MF8040CN is easy to operate with an 5-line LCD display and organised buttons. The MF-8040CN promises low running costs and a small carbon footprint with Canon’s on-demand fixing technology and Energy Star certification.

Disadvantages
