Our Verdict:
The Dell 3100cn printer is a fast and dependable workgroup tool that is suitable for a small business or home office. This laser and colour printer is able to print up to 25 pages per minute in black and white. In colour, the Dell 3100cn is able to print up to 5 pages per minute. This printer is able to complete a monthly duty cycle of up to 15,000 pages. It uses 2400 IQ technology to reproduce colours and can produce prints at a maximum resolution of 600 x 600 dpi in either colour or black and white. To handle multiple prints, the Dell 3100cn employs a 300 MHz processor and 64 MB of RAM.
Design
This printer is designed to be compact and sturdy. It has dimensions of 42.41 cm in width, 41.91 cm in depth, and a height of 53.34 cm. Despite its compactness, this printer is rather heavy at a weight of 31.4 kilograms. This printer includes 2 media loaders that can hold a maximum capacity of 400 pages. The Dell 3100cn comes with a status LCD screen that displays information and is highly functional. Dell have designed the printer so that replacing any of the Dell 310cn toner is as easy as possible, even for people who aren't confident working with hardware. In addition, this printer connects easily to a computer using either a USB, Ethernet cable, or a parallel port.
Advantages
One of the advantages of the Dell 3100cn is the option to add duplex printing. Duplex printing allows you to print on both sides of a paper and will reduce paper consumption. This printer can also print on different forms of media which include labels, envelopes, cards, plain paper, and transparencies. This printer also includes two memory expansion slots that will allow you to upgrade memory up to 576 MB of RAM. Disadvantages
The only disadvantage to this printer is the speed in which it prints colour pages - 5 pages per minute is not fast enough for colour. In addition, this printer cannot be installed on computers running Mac or Linux operating systems. However, it is reasonably priced and is one of the faster printers available for black and white prints.
