Our Verdict:  

Dell 3115cn toner cartridges 

The Dell 3115cn printer is a large unit intended for small offices. It can also be used for individual PCs or Macs as well. Although very bulky and heavy, the printer operates very quickly producing black and white copies at 31 pages per minute because of the laser beam technology. Colour prints are produced at 17 pages a minute. Receiving faxes and scanning documents are additional capabilities of the 3115cn.

Design

The unit is quite heavy, as most laser printers are. This Dell's compact design allows for placement in a small corner or on the edge of a large desk. However, because of the height it may be better to just set the unit on the floor. There is a LCD display and numeric keypad on top with network connection terminal at the rear of the machine.

Advantages

Easy network set-up and included drivers make installation a breeze, while IEEE technology allows for wireless communications. Fast printing is great for large files and spooling printer tasks are carried out efficiently. The 3115cn features decent print quality for text and large images. The optional 550 piece paper tray allows for large printing jobs to be carried out. The colour prints turn out great. Digital picture prints were lacking in image quality.

Disadvantages

The scanner can produce “ghosting" effects and is difficult to operate. If scanning capabilities are your main concern, you will be better off with a multipurpose machine rather than this unit. The Dell 3115cn toner is not used efficiently, so if you are printing frequently you may need to replace if often. In addition, the LCD display is very difficult to read and operate.
