Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN Printer Review

Expert review of the Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN printer 08 January 2013

Our Verdict:

The Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN is a low-cost and high-speed A4 printer designed for medium to large workgroups. It is able to meet the demands of a growing workplace because of the expandable memory and paper capacity, and it comes with built-in duplexing and networking for more versatility, but the high initial cost of the Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN mono printer could be a downside for the budget-conscious.

Design

Epson custom-built this robust A4 laser printer for the most demanding workgroups. The Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN monochrome laser printer has a default 1,250-sheet capacity with three input cassettes and a small but easy-to-use control panel with a backlit display screen. Ethernet is a standard interface along with parallel, USB 2.0 Type B, and a Type B interface. The AcuLaser M4000DTN printer measures 428mm wide, 572mm deep, and 499mm tall, and weighs 29.7Kg.

Advantages

The Epson M4000DTN mono laser printer offers fast speeds of 43ppm without compromising on print quality, which is rated at 1200dpi. Both text and graphics look good and suitable for business needs. The paper capacity is upgradeable to 1,800 sheets. It supports many printer languages and can easily be connected to a network. Users can save time and resources with two-sided printing. The duty cycle of the Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN is up to 200,000 per month. High-yield Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN cartridges can print up to 20,000 pages at a low cost-per-copy.

Disadvantages

This printer is expensive. Buying additional memory or paper input cassettes means spending more for the Epson M-4000DTN laser printer. There are no direct printing options. The Epson AcuLaser M4000DTN is heavy. The built-in display screen cannot be tilted, making it a bit difficult to view.
