HP Colour LaserJet 8500 toner cartridges 

The HP Colour LaserJet 8500 is the perfect addition to a home office that requires both colour and black and white printing. This printer is a single-function device that will print up to 24 pages per minute in black and white. In colour, the HP 8500 will only produce up to 6 pages per minute. In addition, a sharp resolution of 600 dpi by 600 dpi is achieved using HP ImageREt 2400 technology, which can also enhance images.

Design

This printer has a bulky design that stands tall with dimensions of 66.80 cm in width, 71.37 cm in depth, and 105.91 cm in height. It is a heavyweight weighing in at 87 kg. Standard computer connectivity is achieved using a parallel connection. To handle installation, the HP Colour LaserJet 8500 uses HP Installer for its easy walk-through and simplicity. This printer also makes good use of a MIPS R4700 133 MHz processor that is combined with 32 MB of RAM. Additionally, this printer can handle an upgrade of up to 256 MB to accommodate more storage. It also includes three media feeders that can be used to handle up to 1,100 sheets of paper. To back up the input tray, the output tray is designed to hold up to 3,100 sheets at full capacity. HP 8500 toner is manufactured to print on up to 17,000 pages in black with the cyan, magenta and yellow HP 8500 toners offering a yield of 8,500 pages before needing to be replaced.

Advantages

Optional duplex printing is also available and is a great benefit to those wishing to cut down on paper costs. This feature allows users to print on both sides of a page and reduce paper consumption. Another advantage that is offered is multiple forms of media can be printed on including envelopes, labels, cards, transparencies, and plain paper. This printer is also energy efficient and only uses 750 watts of energy during operation, but reduces consumption to 45 watts during standby.

Disadvantages

One of the major downsides concerning the HP Colour LaserJet 8500 is the speed at which it produces colour prints, so it may not be suitable for users who require high-volume colour printing.
