Our Verdict:
The HP Colour LaserJet CP3505 is a printer that will excel in a small business to medium business or in a home office setting. This laser printer can also print in colour and is able to deliver up to 21 prints per minute. Using HP ImageREt 3600, the HP Colour LaserJet CP3505 is able to increase print quality and enhance images through excellent colour reproduction. The best quality that the HP Colour LaserJet CP3505 can put out is 1,200 x 600 dpi. This printer also uses a 450 Mhz Motorola Coldfire V5x Embedded processor with 256 MB of RAM to create up to 65,000 impressions every month.
Design
This printer is simple and compact in its design. The HP Colour LaserJet CP3505 comes in dimensions of 41.40 cm in width, 51.05 cm in depth, and a resting height of 42.92 cm. In addition, this printer is not the lightest at a weight of 27.07 kg. Genuine HP CP3505 toner uses ColourSphere technology to create the most brilliant and realistic colours. An input tray with a 350 page capacity is added to the CP3505 and is paired with a 250 sheet output tray. This printer is also compatible with many operating systems including Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS X 10.3-10.5, Red Hat Linux 7.x or higher, and SuSE Linux.
Advantages
Duplex printing is a standard feature in this model and is a great addition to an already solid printer. Duplex printing will give you the chance to eliminate overuse of paper by printing double-sided on documents. This printer also has a DDR2-SDRAM memory expansions slot available to upgrade RAM to 1 GB. Another benefit provided by the HP Colour LaserJet CP3505 is its networking interface. This printer uses an HP Jetdirect Fast Ethernet print server that allows multiple computers the power to print on one printer. Changing the HP CP3505 toner is also exceptionally easy.
Disadvantages
Ownership of this printer will add up and it starts with the printer itself. The HP Colour LaserJet CP3505 is not a cheap printer and the starter HP CP3505 toner that comes with the printer tends to run out quickly. (HP CP3505 toner can be purchased at very reasonable prices here at Cartridge Save.) However, if your business demands high-volume printing in colour or black and white, the HP Colour LaserJet CP3505 may be the right tool for the job.
