HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn Printer Review

Expert review of the HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn printer 27 February 2014

Our Verdict:

For high-volume users, the HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn is a reliable printer that delivers consistent results in full colour while maintaining productivity. It is intuitive, with user-friendly management tools and advanced connectivity options that allow users to print directly from mobile devices, but it is expensive and the print quality is not that great.

Design

This 52.4Kg printer measures 465mm tall, 586mm deep, and 544mm wide, making it almost cube-like in shape. The minimalist control panel is highlighted by a 2.03-inch display screen, and it is adjacent to the 300-sheet capacity output bin. The HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn has a 250-sheet input tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. The device runs on one Gigabyte of memory, with connectivity options like one high-speed USB 2.0 device, two high-speed USB 2.0 host ports, a Gigabit Internet, and two internal USB host ports.

Advantages

The HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn supports HP e-print and two-sided printing. A wide range of media types are supported from different kinds of paper to transparencies, cardstock, envelopes, and labels. Wide-format documents can be produced as well as bulk jobs with an expandable paper capacity to 2350 sheets. Instant-On technology speeds up the printing process. Print quality can be automatically enhanced by HP ImageREt and HP EasyColor systems. The HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn prints directly from laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Management tools allow administrators to efficiently monitor and control usage and printing costs.

Disadvantages

At its best, the HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn can only print in 600x600dpi, which is insufficient for very detailed graphics and for creating realistic images. The memory of the HP Colour LaserJet Enterprise M750dn is not expandable. Users need to buy accessories like HP Jetdirect if they want a wireless print server, but that adds to the overall initial costs of the device.
