HP LaserJet IIIP Printer Review

Expert review of the HP LaserJet IIIP printer 01 December, 2011

Our Verdict:

HP LaserJet IIIP toner cartridges

HP's LaserJet IIIP is a monochrome printer that is able to produce high quality prints. The printer is suitable for high end computer users looking for quality printers that are at the same time affordable. In terms of performance, flexibility and output delivery, it is unrivalled.

Design

HP have gone for a simple and flat design that makes it suitable to be used on desktops. It is a monochrome printer that is designed to print up to 4 papers per minute and can handle up to 70 media sheets including bond papers, labels, envelopes, transparencies and plain papers. The HP IIIP toner printer has a maximum resolution of about 300 dpi. It is relatively small and able to fit perfectly in office corners. It can be connected to other peripheral devices via cable.

Advantages

If you want more speed, there is an extension slot to upgrade with additional memory. The HP LaserJet IIIP toner printer handles up to 10,000 pages on a monthly basis, which is enough for the average user. It is able to print high resolution documents and this makes it ideal for paper work that need to be crisp and clear. HP IIP toner produces good results and is durable. Moreover, the HP LaserJet IIIP printer is compatible with Linux and Windows operating systems. It also comes with a 1 year warranty for both parts and labour.

Disadvantages

The HP LaserJet IIIP does a great job with documents, but its main limitation relates to memory. It has a small standard memory of only 1MB and this does not make it efficient for printing jobs that require more memory. The HP LaserJet IIIP also needs plenty of space especially when its sheet feeder is open. The fact that it can only handle printing makes it unsuitable for users who are looking for multipurpose printers that do scanning, copying as well as printing.
