The LaserJet P2030 by Hewlett-Packard is the right machine for a small business office. Using a print resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, the P2030 can produce printed pages at speeds of up to 30 pages per minute, with the first page being produced in about eight seconds. By applying HP’s proprietary FastRes setting, the P2030 can attain effective printing resolutions for graphics and text of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. Moreover, the printer boasts a duty cycle of up to 25,000 pages per month. Classified as a medium size monochrome laser printer, the LaserJet P2030 can operate without taking up too much table or desk space. It incorporates a built-in 250 sheet paper delivery tray, and ejects finished documents via the conveniently located top-port output tray. Moreover, the HP P2030 provides the user with conveniently located push-button controls located at the top-front of the printer. Relying on an OPC (Organic Photo Conductor) type laser drum, the P2030 ensures quality printing on each page produced because the drum receives an electrical charge before every print. The HP P2030 toner cartridge that is included with the printer can produce up to 1,000 text printed pages before needing to be replaced.

Design

The printer is made entirely of silver-gray plastic to allow an aesthetic mating with the work place’s colour scheme. This model features a 266 MHZ microprocessor and 16 MB of system RAM to produce fast prints without computer slow-downs. The P2030 offers users the versatility of the built-in paper tray, or a multipurpose tray that can hold up to 50 sheets of various types of paper. Indeed, through the supplied HP software, this printer can communicate with computers running Windows, Macintosh, Unix, or Linux operating systems.
