The HP LaserJet Pro P1606DN is a very capable single-function printer that is able to be used for a small office or for a home. This printer is a monochrome laser workgroup printer that is capable of printing 26 pages per minute. It is also able to complete a monthly cycle duty of 8,000 pages and is able to produce its first black and white printout in 7 seconds. The P1606DN is connected to a computer using a USB or Ethernet cable. It is able to create a max resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. In addition, the HP LaserJet Pro P1606DN uses HP FastRes 1200 to enhance the image quality. The HP LaserJet Pro P1606DN uses a 400 MHz processor and 32 MB of RAM to help handle multiple print jobs and is able to print on a variety of media which include vellum paper, transparencies, envelopes, labels, plain paper, and photo paper.

Design

The HP LaserJet Pro P1606DN comes in a black finish that is compact and only weighs 6.98 kilograms. This printer has dimensions of 38.6 cm by 28.4 cm and a height of 24.6 cm. It has a simple control panel that is highly functional and easy to use. The HP LaserJet Pro also has a front load media tray that is able to hold 260 pages at full capacity. Its software is easily integrated into Windows and only requires you to plug in the USB cord into the computer for setup.

Advantages

This printer uses 440 watts when fully operational. In its sleep mode, the HP LaserJet Pro P1606DN uses 2.2 watts of energy to stay on. Another advantage to owning this printer is its amazing speed. In addition to its speed, the P1606DN is able to offer duplex printing for printing on both sides simultaneously, which will save you paper.

Disadvantages

It is only about half full and will only print 1,000 pages, while a new HP P1606dn toner cartridge will be able to print about 2,000 pages. This is a fair printer for its value.
