Expert review of the Konica Minolta Bizhub C31PX printer 24 January, 2012

Our Verdict:  

The high-speed Konica Minolta Bizhub C31PX is designed for medium sized offices requiring professional grade prints with accurate photographic details. It has a 1,600 sheet paper capacity and a speed of 37 ppm for both coloured and black and white print jobs. Output is clear and crisp, as this machine uses Simitreg HD Colour Polymerised Toner and PhotoArt Contone Printing, producing a maximum of 9600 x 600 dpi. Add-ons can make it even more efficient, but they don’t come cheap.

Design

The Bizhub C31PX has a standard 600-sheet paper cassette; it can be fitted with 2 more 500-sheet paper cassettes to bring maximum paper capacity to as high as 1,600 sheets. It features a built in duplex for paper-saving. The sleek design and muted grey and charcoal casing makes it suitable for offices.

Advantages

This Konica Minolta printer supports Windows Vista. It also has Powerful Page Scope software, making it easy to manage the device through the web. The Bizhub C31PX offers direct printing through USB. There’s no need to change files or open applications. It can read and print TIFF, JPG, PDF, and XPS files directly using the optional HDD.

Disadvantages

The user-friendly and moderately priced Konica Minolta printer produces superior prints. However, users can expect to pay more for replacement inks and cartridges and optional add-ons.
