Konica Minolta Magicolour 2300W toner cartridges 

It sounds odd to hear of a Konica Minolta printer being built for a 'shoestring budget', but that is exactly what the Magicolour 2300W is all about. This 30 kg box had some serious thought put into it and is changing how other companies build perceive the age old debate of quality over quantity. While it may be on the high end of the price scale for a printer with this range of volume, there are a few key features that make it stand out dramatically from some of the competition brought to it by Brother, Oki, and Lexmark.

Design

The Magicolour 2300W most closely resembles an unobtrusive medium-sized filing cabinet. All maintenance needs, including the 200 sheet input bin and the pre-installed Konica Minolta 2300W toner cartridges, can be accessed through a single door that exposes most of the interior. A simple user interface on the top of the printer next to the output tray has a handful of LEDs, a small display screen, and buttons to help with toner problems or jams. The traditional parallel port is at the rear of the machine as well as a USB port for quick prints on any computer running the Windows operating system. 32 MB of RAM and a small processor allow this printer to accept larger as well as more graphic-intensive jobs.

Advantages

Both colour and black text prints come out phenomenally well on this printer, which helps to make up for the slower print speeds. The 'Plug & Play' feature makes setup nearly non-existent as long as the user has their computer running a version of the Windows operating system. One of the most unique features is the completely revitalized Konica Minolta 2300W cartridges, which have shown to save hundreds in a busy office or work group over the course of a year.

Disadvantages

The speed and paper capacity are going to be the single largest factor in limiting which companies are going to be able to purchase this printer. Colour prints dip below 7 pages per minute while simple black text prints will rarely edge about 12 or 13 pages per minute depending on the size of the job. Along with the meager 200 sheet input bin, this machine is more suited for an low-volume office looking to save money while retaining quality.
