Some might even call the Konica Minolta 1400w somewhat attractive, but this is definitely a workhorse type of printer meant for a home office or small business. Because of its compact nature, it can fit much more easily onto a cluttered workspace, which is definitely an advantage in this price range of printers. Overall, the Konica Minolta 1400W is an excellent single colour laser printer for the money, and definitely a great by for the home business person in need of a compact printer which is durable and reliable and able to fit into a small space. There are some features lacking, but those can be easily forgiven because of the higher than expected print quality, which, after all, is the bottom line when it comes to budget printing.

Design

The packaging comes with a plug-and-play installation software disk, which only the most nubile of computer users will have trouble installing. Another plus is that this printer has no paper trail, which only tends to get in the way in a crowded workspace. The input tray it comes with is a much better design, and does not leave you hanging, as it can still hold 150 sheets of paper.

Advantages

The printer supports very good print resolutions for its price range: 1,200 x 600 dpi. Another great feature which is sure to save many people a great deal of hassle is the status display utility, which keeps the user up-to-date on the level of toner for the Konica Minolta 1400w printer. This status display can also adjust the printer settings quite easily. The output is actually slightly better than expected, considering its price range. Pictures come out slightly less clear than text, but tones and contrast were slightly better than printers in its class. The Konica Minolta 1400w printer comes with 8 MB of RAM, which unfortunately is impossible to expand. Therefore, if speed is the core thing that you're after then it may be worth your time looking for another printer with more base memory installed and the ability to expand when needed.
