Kyocera FS-3820n Printer Review

Expert review of the Kyocera FS-3820n printer 10 January 2013

Our Verdict:

Workgroups in need of a laser printer may opt for the reliable and robust Kyocera FS-3820n laser printer. This network-ready device has quick print speed and can deliver a maximum resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. It has a monthly duty cycle of 125,000 pages and it is integrated with 64 MB of memory upgradable to 320 MB and a 300 MHz processor. The Kyocera FS-3820n network laser printer offers crisp and professional output. The automatic duplexer is not standard to the unit.

Design

The Kyocera FS-3820n workgroup printer measures 13.6 x 15.4 x 11.8 inches and weighs 28.7 lbs. It has a print speed of 28 ppm and it can handle 600 sheets at a time. This monochrome laser printer comes with a control panel with status display. The Kyocera FS-3820n mono laser printer can handle different types of media including business cards, envelopes, transparencies, and labels. For connectivity, USB, parallel, and Ethernet are available.

Advantages

The user-friendly Kyocera FS3820n has a small footprint to save precious space in the office. This model can also offer a low cost-per-page. The Kyocera FS-3820n high speed workgroup printer with networking delivers consistent and solid output and boasts an impressive monthly duty cycle. Workgroups can easily share the Kyocera FS3820n printer as it has built-in Ethernet. Low printing costs can be attributed to the black Kyocera FS-3820n toner cartridge.

Disadvantages

The automatic duplexer for double-sided printing must be bought separately. The initial cost of the FS-3820n monochrome printer is quite high. More users could access the printer if it had Wi-Fi. There is no USB host for direct printing - a feature that would also make the FS3820n more useful.
