Our Verdict:
The Philips LaserFax LPF935 is a high end laser fax multi-function machine designed for home business and small business use. This fax machine comes ready to print, scan, and copy at a reasonable resolution for business purposes and comes with a large selection of features that will be useful to a small business that has no need for a conventional printer. Not only can this fax machine fulfil all the standard functions of a multi-function printer, it can do so while maintaining the specialized functionality of a full featured fax machine.
Design
The LaserFax LPF935 copies and prints at 16 pages per minute with a printing resolution of 600 dpi. The dial up modem functions at 14.4 kbps and comes with both telephone and SMS functionality. This fax multi-function machine comes with a 250 sheet input tray and a 100 sheet output tray. This machine comes with a 199 number autodial and 207 broadcast locations. This fax machine can handle up to 99 copies with 64 shades of grey. Reduction and enlargement can go from 25% to 400%. Philips LPF935 toner is still available in an original format.
Advantages
The Philips LPF935 comes with a range of extra features that could let a small office that has need for a high quality fax machine but only limited need for printing and copies get by quite well with one machine. This unit comes with the same range of features that most multi-function monochrome printers have, though at a reduced output quality that may not be suitable for professional presentation quality work. For an office or home office that deals primarily with internal paperwork, this machine could be a great way to handle faxing without the cost of a separate printer.
Disadvantages
The LPF935 is a bit older and only has drivers for the computer tied functions up to Windows Vista. For an office who needs to use this machine as a printer, the older drivers may be a significant issue. The relatively low resolution of the LPF935 makes it unsuitable for professional quality printing and copies.
