Samsung CLX-3185 Toner Cartridges

Design

The CLX-3185 fits easily into a home office at 41 x 36 x 33 cm. It is designed to be a functional document copier and scanner, with an Automatic Document Feeder with a 15 sheet capacity. Laser print and copy with black ink only at up to 17 pages per minute. The colour print and copy speed is significantly slower, up to 4 pages per minute. However, the CLX-3185 does have the added feature of colour faxing. A maximum print resolution of 2,400 x 600 dpi is acceptable for medium quality photo printing. One black Samsung CLX-3185 toner cartridge is included.

Advantages

The Samsung CLX-3185 has a two-line built-in digital display and a unique save to USB function. It comes standard with a large 256 MB memory. The scanner/copier is capable of enlarging originals up to 400%, and reducing to 25%. For the home office, it has the unusual advantage of colour faxing, and the convenience of an automatic document feeder with a 15 sheet capacity.

Disadvantages

Compared to similar printers in its class, the CLX-3185 has a slower colour copy and print speed of only 4 pages per minute. The printer/copier has a cap of 99 copiers per job, and cannot print to transparencies. The initial purchase does not include Samsung CLX-3185 toner colour cartridges, only one black cartridge is included, and no binding, collating, or stapling features are built-in for document finishing.
