The Samsung ML-1510B is one of the smallest digital cassette base printers on the market. Offering a solely monochrome output, it is ideal for homes or quieter offices that mainly produce letters or other types of document. It delivers a solid printing performance and features a smart blue and white finish. With smooth edges and a flat-loading paper tray, this printer will take up very little space on a desktop. When it is necessary to work with a range of media, it can manage transparencies, postcards, labels and more.
Design
Weighing in at a manageable 15.43lbs, this printer is easy to relocate when necessary. It measures 14.6 x 13.9 x 7.7 inches. There is a 2GB memory included as standard, along with Samsung Printer Language software to boost processing speeds. To cut costs on longer print runs, there is a Toner Save button, and this unit has a 1.1 USB port to connect with other devices. It supports Linux and Windows software, as well as Mac operating systems from 8.6 upward. When high-volume print jobs are required, there is a 250-sheet cassette feeder and a 50-sheet face-down paper output tray.
Advantages
Despite its compact size, the Samsung ML-1510B boasts a good print speed of 14 pages per minute or 15 envelopes per minute. This black and white printer can produce a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, and the first page out time is 11 seconds. When connecting it to a computer, the installation process can be finished in four clicks, and restarting the PC is not required.
Disadvantages
The Samsung ML-1510B has monochrome capabilities but cannot print in colour – this may not be sufficient for the needs of many users. There is also very little memory, which could slow down a complex print job, and no wireless connectivity, which many consumers are likely to require.
