I've just bought the Samsung ML-1660 printer. It only has a black toner 'MLT-D1042S'. How can I make colour prints? How do I know which cartridge is best to print both colour and black images. Can you let me know which colour cartridge is suitable?

  • The Samsung ML-1660 is a monochrome laser printer and is not capable or designed to produce colour images. The only cartridges available for this machine are black toners such as the genuine black Samsung MLT-D1042S toner cartridge seen here:

ML-1660 toner compatibility see 1 answer

I bought a new Samsung cartridge MLT 1048 for my ML1660 Samsung printer, being told it was compatible, but when I got home it would not print and the printer said it was the wrong cartridge. Why? What can I do to make it work, as I don't want to have to buy another cartridge?

  • I'm very sorry to hear about the problems you've experienced with this item. Unfortunately, I cannot find any reference to a cartridge with the code MLT 1048 on our website. Provided the printer was purchased in the UK, the cartridge we recommend for the Samsung ML-1660 printer is the genuine black Samsung MLT-D1042S. We suggest that you contact the company who supplied you with the cartridge as it appears that they may have sold you an item that is incompatible with your ML-1660 laser printer.

  • This is not a service that we offer or recommend. The toner cartridges have chips on that your printer reads if the cartridge is empty the chip will need to be reset when the cartridge is refilled.

The Samsung ML-1660 Printer is a modern, compact printer designed for ease of use and energy efficiency. The ML-1660 is one of the smallest laser printers available, but its compact size in no way limits efficiency, the printer is capable of printing 16 pages-per-minute at 1200x600 dpi print resolution on A4 printer paper.

The laser printer also features a variety of functions intended to reduce energy consumption and increase ease of use. These include the abilities to easily turn the ML-1660 to energy-saving standby mode and one-touch printing.

Design

The Samsung ML-1660 Laser Printer is essentially designed to bring the capabilities of larger desktop printers to an ultra-compact model.
