Our Verdict:  

Samsung SCX-8040ND toner cartridges 

If you’re looking for a multi-functional, reliable and user-friendly printer then look no further than the Samsung SCX-8040ND. Unfortunately, this printer is anything but compact and is best suited for medium sized businesses. The SCX-8040ND laser printer can not only print, copy, scan and fax, but is also compatible with almost every OS including Windows 2000 / XP /2003 / Vista / 2008 / 7, Mac OS and Linux.

Design

With dimensions of 677.5mm(W), 924mm(H), and 742.8mm(D) and a weight of 113kg this printer is anything but practical and may be cause for concern for those of you who are limited for space. However, having an 8.9” adjustable touchpad monitor makes up for this inconvenience. It is evident that great emphasis has been placed on the Samsung SCX-8040ND being as user-friendly as possible – navigating the menus is a breeze and controlling the print independently from a PC is quick and easy.

Advantages

Although the large bulky exterior may give off bad first impressions, its intuitive designed interface allows a novice user to easily navigate through its broad range of features. What this printer lacks in terms of design and size, it makes up in the speed department. At 40ppm and a first print out time of under 8 seconds, the Samsung SCX-8040ND is perfect for busy offices that have multiple users. The printer can also hold over 1000 sheets so you won’t have to replace paper in a hurry.

Disadvantages

Print quality isn’t the best with graphics lacking punch and clarity. Text documents fair better and are more than adequate for most business uses. The Samsung SCX-8040ND’s price tag is at the top end of the market – which is questionable, especially when you compare its specification with similar priced models.
