The Sharp MX6050N is a combined printer, fax, copier and scanner ideal for increasing the productivity of a busy workgroup. The machine is also compact enough to fit into any convenient space within an office. Its handy Print Release function enables scanned, printed or copied documents to be sent instantaneously to a central server to be processed later, and all local operations are controlled from a tiltable LCD panel. Public cloud services may be accessed via a single sign-on, and the unit has a short start-up time to save energy and maximise convenience.

Design

The Sharp MX-6050N has dimensions of 608x650x834mm and weighs 82kg, making it one of the smaller models in this range, but still packs in a lot of functionality. It can be fitted into any convenient spare space and is a real workhorse. The copy speed for black-and-white and colour documents is an impressive 50ppm, and print resolution is an excellent 600x600dpi, suitable for most purposes. Consistently high print quality is ensured with a developer refresh system. Everyday tasks are carried out via the customisable LCD screen, and the unit is Energy Star-certified for efficiency, so its running costs are significantly lower than those of some of its competitors.

Advantages

The Sharp MX-6050N enables any workgroup to print, scan, copy and fax at high volume at the touch of a few icons, and with a paper capacity of 6,500 sheets, it only has to be refilled occasionally. It incorporates multi-layer security features and has simple and quick access to cloud storage systems, making distributed operations easy.

Disadvantages

The design of the Sharp MX6050N may be considered rather retro, which might put some users off, and its 600x600dpi print resolution may not be as high as some users require. The tiltable LCD can also be reflective if the unit is placed in strong light.
