Sharp MX-M182D Printer Review
Expert review of the Sharp MX-M182D printer
The compact Sharp MX-M182D is a multifunction copier that can also offer decent prints and coloured scans. Users can expect crisp and professional output from this device. The Sharp MX-M182D offers good features including a built-in duplexer for automatic double-sided printing and 'scan once, print many' function. This model is integrated with 128 MB of memory. It can handle A3 media and offers a maximum resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. Networking connectivity must be bought separately.
Design
The Sharp MX-M182D comes with an organised control panel that has function buttons and a display. For connectivity, a USB port is offered and optional Ethernet is available. The Sharp MX-M182D has a standard paper handling capacity of 350 sheets that can be increased to 1,100 sheets. Print and copy speed can go as fast as 18 ppm. This model can continuously copy up to 999 pages.
Advantages
This robust device is ideal for small businesses as it takes up little space and offers decent output at a reasonable speed. The Sharp MX-M182D is very easy to operate and setup and requires little maintenance. It can handle large media and offer flexible copying and scanning with its flatbed scanner.
Disadvantages
The Sharp MX-M182D only works on Windows operating systems and Ethernet connectivity as well as fax function must be bought separately. Although the idea of having an upgradable printer is to add new features as they become available rather than invest in a new printer, WiFi is not an option, preventing direct wireless printing. The reversing single pass feeder is also optional.
