Xerox WorkCentre Pro 123 Printer Review

Expert review of the Xerox WorkCentre Pro 123 printer 17 January 2017

Our Verdict:

While the Xerox WorkCentre Pro 123 may no longer be on the market for you to buy, this workhorse of a mono printer was a popular addition for many medium-sized and large workplaces, and many models are still in situ, despite no longer being on sale. With good print speeds and a reliable output, this multi-functional printer provides most of the functions you expect from a workplace printer, including printing and copying as standard, with fax, scanning and email available as optional extras.

Design

A typical WorkCentre design makes this machine instantly recognisable as a Xerox printer, with an off-white finish that’s uninspiring but professional, and top-facing push buttons and a control panel that are simple and easy to use. Its dimensions without finisher are 52 x 47 x 45 inches, while it weighs 63.5kg and has a 500-sheet output tray, two 500-sheet input trays as standard, and a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for automatic duplex printing.

Advantages

One of the biggest advantages to the Xerox WorkCentre Pro 123 is its reliability and versatility, with a maximum duty cycle of 75,000 images per month.

Disadvantages

The main disadvantage of the Xerox WorkCentre Pro 123 is that it is no longer available; however, Cartridge Save stocks Xerox WorkCentre Pro 123 toner cartridges that can still be used with this printer . It has a slow print speed for such a large machine; 23ppm is slow going in this hi-tech age. It also lacks all the modern bells and whistles that have since become standard in printers of this size, price and quality, such as a touchscreen control panel or Wi-Fi connectivity. As such, it feels a little dated.
