My copier has started to produce copies which are almost unreadable because the pages are covered in heavy black streaks. What is the cause?

There are several possible causes of streaking from a laser printer. Firstly, please check the toner cartridge to see if it's running low as this can cause problems. It's also possible that the drum may be unable to hold a charge which can cause defects when images are printed. In this case you would need to replace the toner cartridge because the Canon A30 is a combined toner and drum. You can also try removing the toner and giving it a gentle shake to loosen any excess toner. This also stops toner from settling in one place. If you're still having difficulty you may wish to contact Canon directly for technical support.
