In many ways, the Lexmark XC8155 is almost perfect. It comes with a range of excellent features that are likely to stand you in good stead, including Charged Coupled Device (CCD) sensors for top-quality print resolution as well as expandable input trays for maximum flexibility. It’s important to take into account, however, that the standard memory size may not be appropriate for everyone’s needs. It is a colour multifunction laser printer that can handle paper sizes up to A3.

Design

When it comes to the design of the Lexmark XC8155, there are several features which are likely to appeal to users. The integrated Charged Coupled Device (CCD) sensors and 5-piece optical glass lenses ensure that resolution is always as great as possible on the printed page. It’s designed to be environmentally friendly too, and as a result, the device’s sleep mode uses under 3.5 watts. It features PANTONE colour calibration for precision matching of colours.

Advantages

A particular advantage of this device is its encryption technique. It offers 256-bit AES encryption, which means you can print sensitive documents without having to worry about stolen hard drives or hacks. The expandable input of the paper handling system means that more than one paper type can be used – and that capacity can be extended up to 4,500 sheets if need be. With this device able to print up to 55 ppm and scan 120 ipm too, it’s a high-performance option. It offers the option of adding a wireless print server. By default, it is equipped with a caster base and a 10-inch colour touch screen.

Disadvantages

Ideal for medium to large workplaces, there are also some drawbacks to choosing the Lexmark XC8155. The standard memory is only 2048 MB, although the maximum available is 4096 MB.
