Kiwi 3D Printer Review

Expert review of the Kiwi 3D printer

Our Verdict:

The Sharebot Kiwi 3D is a compact 3D printer that uses FFF technology to create items printed using PLA filaments. The simple setup process and operational steps required for its use make it ideal for educational institutions and beginners in 3D printing. The unit has a fully enclosed chamber that shelters the heated bed, where items can be printed at a resolution of 100 microns. However, the 3D printer’s connectivity options are limited.

Design

With dimensions of 310 x 350 x 330mm, the Sharebot Kiwi 3D printer is of a convenient size for many different locations, and it is capable of printing items to a size of 140 x 100 x 100mm. The device is also suitable for use in many scenarios as it is simple to use. The machine has a clear LCD screen that displays a menu that is easy to navigate using the neighbouring controls. The extruder reaches a temperature of 215°C and has a 0.4mm nozzle. It can be connected via a USB cable and can also print directly from an SD card.

Advantages

The high-end, stylish appearance of the Sharebot Kiwi 3D printer will be a draw for many people, as will the fact that the large panes of the enclosed chamber are perfect for viewing the item as it is being printed. The minimum layer resolution that the Sharebot Kiwi 3D can achieve is 0.1mm, which ensures that it can accurately produce the fine detail of the printing task.

Disadvantages

It is surprising that a 3D printer that is ideal for use by beginners and those developing their skills, such as the Sharebot Kiwi 3D, does not have the option for wireless connectivity.
