Canon MultiPass C530 Printer Review
Expert review of the Canon MultiPass C530 printer
The Canon MultiPass C530 is an inkjet multifunction printer which has the ability to print in both monochrome and colour, scan, copy and fax. On the whole, the different functions work well, with fax speeds being particular quick. This printer is best suited for printing out family photographs and the standard it achieves with these is impressive. Unfortunately, the speed of printing is slow, meaning that if you have a large number of photographs to print, you will need to allow a considerable length of time. Achieving Energy Star EPA standards, the printer may reduce the impact on the environment compared to some models and will also use less power. However, be aware that the printer needs to be kept plugged in at all times and to be used frequently to avoid the inks from drying up and requiring replacement.
Design
The Canon MultiPass C530 has print speeds of 5 ppm in black and white, and 2 ppm in colour. Print resolution is 720 x 360 dpi. Connection is achieved via a parallel interface. Paper is stored in the paper feeder on the rear of the machine which has a capacity of 100 sheets. The automatic document feeder capacity is 20 sheets. The dimensions of this printer are 36.5 x 32 x 20.5 cm.
Advantages
Achieving Energy Star EPA, the Canon MultiPass C530 can reduce the impact of your printing on the environment. The built-in nozzle cleaning facility allows the nozzles to be easily kept clean with just the touch of a button. Fax speeds on this printer are quick. Quality of colour prints, including photos is good.
Disadvantages
If scanning a document more than once or twice, the Canon MultiPass C530 may leave light track marks on it. The printer needs to be kept plugged in at all times and preferably in frequent use, otherwise the ink dries out. Print speeds are slow.
