Canon MultiPass C80 Printer Review
Expert review of the Canon MultiPass C80 printer
The Canon MultiPass C80 is a multifunction colour printer which utilises inkjet technology and has the ability to copy, scan and fax as well as print. Meeting a number of energy standards, this is a good option for those wanting to reduce their environmental impact and keep operational costs down. With a compact design, it will fit easily into a small home or office, which will enjoy the numerous features of the different functions. Unfortunately, as a printer it is slow, particularly for colour documents which will mean long print runs take a long time to complete and any finishing options you require will have to be carried out manually.
Design
The Canon MultiPass has a white casing and is managed by a control panel on the front of the machine which includes a number of buttons and a 16-character display screen. Printing resolution is 720 x 360 dpi. Printing speeds are 5 ppm for monochrome printing and 2 ppm for colour documents. Paper is stored in an input tray which has the capacity of 100 sheets. There is also an automatic document feeder which can hold 20 sheets. Connection is achieved via a parallel interface. The size of the printer is 36.5 x 34 x 21 cm.
Advantages
Achieving the CISPR 22 Class B, EPA Energy Star, FIMKO, GS energy standards, ensures the Canon MultiPass C80 reduces its environmental impact and saves money on power usage. The size of the printer is compact, allowing even a small space to have access to the four functions of the printer. The fax function has a number of features including one touch dialling, speed dialling and an activity report.
Disadvantages
There are no finishing options on the Canon MultiPass C80. Printing speeds on this Canon printer are slow, particularly for colour documents, making photographic printing a lengthy task.
