GIFT OF BOOKS: GIVE A BOOK TO A CHILD IN NEED<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h1>\n

We are proud to have teamed up with the\u00a0National Literacy Trust to launch ‘Gift of Books”, a unique campaign in Greater Manchester. Our aim is to achieve one objective: reducing book poverty for the region\u2019s most disadvantaged children.<\/span><\/p>\n

National Literacy Trust research has found<\/a> that 40,000 school children in Greater Manchester don\u2019t own a single book at home<\/strong>.\u00a0Children\u2019s books are a pivotal part of growing up and we wanted to help local children fall in love with reading.<\/p>\n

So we need you!<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Our \u201cGift of Books\u201d campaign is calling on you and your spirit of generosity and asking you to\u00a0to donate a favourite childhood book – complete with this printed note explaining why you want to share it. This in\u00a0turn will be gifted to one of the 40,000 children in Greater Manchester who have no books of their own.<\/p>\n

To help with this, we will have\u00a0collection points pop up in the region between now and 31st August. See below for your nearest location.<\/p>\n

Schools, local groups and community centres in Greater Manchester can register as a collection point by filling in the sign-up form.<\/p>\n

Once the books have been gathered from the collection points, we will work with the National Literacy Trust to identify these children to ensure they are being placed in the right hands.<\/p>\n
