Canon LaserShot LBP-660 Printer Review

Expert review of the Canon LaserShot LBP-660 printer

Our Verdict:

Designed for small offices, the Canon LaserShot LBP-660 is a monochrome laser printer that can deliver a maximum resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. This model is quite reliable and it offers crisp and professional text documents and solid images and greyscale graphics. It is integrated with PCL 4 emulation and has a memory of 128 KB. The Canon LaserShot LBP-660 is outdated and does not run on new operating systems.

The Canon LBP660 LaserShot laser printer will not look out of place in a small office environment and is ideally suited to this environment. This small device weighs only 13.7 lbs and makes a good personal laser printer. It comes in white and has a parallel interface. The Canon LaserShot LBP-660 black and white laser printer can handle a wide range of media including labels, plain paper, envelopes, and transparencies plus the paper tray can hold 100 sheets at a time.

Users favour the Canon LaserShot LBP-660 as it offers low cost of ownership. Cost per page is low and the initial price of the device is affordable. The Canon LaserShot LBP-660 is user-friendly and it has plug and play compliant standard making it easy to setup and install. This model takes up little space on desks and is very easy to store. The Canon LBP660 printer is qualified by Energy Star to make sure it operates ecologically. It also uses very cheap compatible Canon LBP660 printer cartridges made from recycled materials if required.

The main trouble with the LaserShot LBP-660 is it is old. This model only offers parallel port and does not offer modern USB interface, let alone networking connectivity. For a laser printer, the Canon LaserShot LBP 660 is disappointingly slow. There are plenty of inkjet printers that can deliver output faster than the Canon LBP-660’s speed of 6 ppm.
